Glenaire 5k

This event had over 390 entrants in 2018. The event, which is put on by the Glenaire Continuing Care Retirement Community, starts and finishes on its campus, 4000 Glenaire Circle in Cary.

Aaron Hale led all finishers with a 18:14 clocking, while Jenny Dipaolo led the women with a 19:44 performance. Omar Wiggan holds the course record of 16:58 clocking. Kyle Feldman holds the women’s mark of 18:44. Both records were set in 2017.

The race will benefit the Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc., whose mission is to provide senior adults with caring and high quality services in support of their physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual well-being. As a non-profit, Presbyterian-affiliated organization, Glenaire has never asked any residents to leave our community simply because they have outlived their resources. In its 25 years, Glenaire has provided well over $3.5 million in financial assistance. In 2019, we expect to provide over $450,000 in scholarship funds. One hundred percent of race proceeds will support this cause.

All 5K participants will have the option to be timed, but recreational runners and walkers are welcome. Although all finishers will be able to see their time at the finish, only competive entrants will be eligible for awards.

The 5K entry fee is $30 increasing to $35 on race day.

The 1-Mile Fun Run fee is $20 with no late fee. Children under the age of 12 are free, but this does not include a t-shirt unless you choose to purchase one for $10.
